amBX-powered lighting has transformed 8 Northumberland Avenue, central London’s most unique events venue.
8 Northumberland Avenue have taken their fantastic venue to a whole new level, using amBX technology in conjunction with Philips Color Kinetics and Control4, and they are now able to demonstrate a live show environment to their clients at the push of a button.
The Challenge
As a market leading events venue 8 Northumberland Avenue see innovation and creativity as core to ensuring their venue lives up to its reputation. The challenge was to provide the ability to show prospective clients how the historic interiors come to life when in use and how their own event might look at the touch of a button. This would be a major step forward in their marketing capability, improving the offering to clients and increasing the venue’s already admirable profile.
The Solution
amBX partnered with Architainment Ltd and Firefly Automation to design an installation of amBX controlled RGB LED lighting in the Old Billiard Room and Annex which would provide everything from a subtle ambience to dynamic entertainment lighting to suit a wide range of occasions. With the flexibility and power of amBX control technology and state-of- the art LED lighting installed, the function rooms can be instantly controlled and brought to life with lighting effects adding show-stopping drama, intrigue and impact as well as the desired ambience.
Complete control of this incredible range of lighting is provided literally at the touch of a button via an easy to use interface on iPad, a wall mounted touchscreen or control panels.
This makes for effortless delivery of effects that would only previously have been achievable by employing the use of a lighting technician and has proved extremely popular with management, staff and clients.
The core of the lighting system, the amBIENT XC DMX controller, manages the effects which are delivered via a range of Philips RGB LED up lighters and cove lighting fixtures supplied by Architainment Ltd. Control4 was chosen as the ideal and proven solution to provide a simple-to-use interface and Firefly Automation configured and installed the system in partnership with amBX.
As well as providing full lighting control to achieve exactly the right ambience, the amBX technology also allows for sound-to-light and video-to-light effects to fill the space without the need for programming or live control. Any event production can take full advantage of the whole system or just part of it via standard connections, and instantly create a unique and exciting immersive experience.
