Burn, you didn't, but Mr Fujisawa did state he was using Fraps. Turning it of didn't solve things though.

I've killed every program running that I can think of and it still has the same problem. It's a real shame cause it looks great. I think I'll take some video showing the problem in action and post in the tech support forums maybe. It seems to be a similar problem to what happens in BFBC2, as in that viewing certain things causes the same frame drops

That's it in action, it looks worse than it is cause the video is kinda of smoothing out the jerkiness, but you can still see how bad it gets.

Do you perhaps use ATI tray tool or another addon which allow you to manipulate your graphics card? Those tend to interfer as well.
Do you perhaps have another computer you could test on? Preferably one with a different setup. Otherwise you might encounter the same difficulty because the same software/hardware is on it.

i'm using a geforce but I killed any processes I could see running (ntune etc). Unfortunately I don't have another pc to test on. Anyone else using driver release 196.21?

I purchased Oblivion for the third time this weekend during the Steam sale, GOTY special edition this time and I was really hoping I could play this with ambx, because it worked terrificly on Oblivion vanilla...

There are a few rather important projects running at this time but Oblivion has been added to the list to be looked at again to see if any issues can be resolved.

The problem with vanilla oblivion still ocurrs also, i.e. really, REALLY jerky frame rate.

If you rename the oblivion exe to something else, it won't be picked up as being oblivion and so you can chose one of the default profiles (FPS, RPG, Racing etc). You will only get lights but it is silky smooth. Hopefully this can get a fix at the same time.

i have the same problem as some of you guys. every minute (and sometimes second) my ambx rans turn on and the lights flash up for like a second or two when playing oblivion for no apparent reason. I however do not have the problem with the frame rate.

my oblivion has all (or most of the expansions) and several mods.

1 ambx premium kit and 1 ambx standard (just speekers and lights) (they are set up like suround sound)

Hi there, first time poster. So I just finished riding this coin operated ride at a local video arcade (I know! I didn't know they still existed either), and I got to experience this whole "gaming with wind" thing. I have to say, the experience absolutely blew me away. Now I've spent the past hour or so looking up amBX, and I'm getting the impression that the wind part of amBX is being given up in favor of lighting exclusively.

Say it ain't so!

Anyway, even if there isn't much future wind development, I thought I'd check in to see if all the problems previous posters mentioned about Oblivion and Shiving Isles and the like have been resolved. If so, I'll probably still go ahead and buy one of those old deluxe packs and install it using the absolutely crazy instructions provided for installing to Win7. Oblivion is and has remained one of my favorite games of all time, and if I can somehow manage to make it even more realistic, I would do so without a second thought.

I don't play Oblivion myself but as for fans it's not clear whether MadCatz are contemplating adding those features or not... if they believe there is a market for them they may just create them.

Be advised that the Philips Fans can be quite noisy but I do like the effect

Also you can get the extension pack (fan and rumble) quite cheap and it may work out better to locate a starter pack and buy the extension pack rather than going for the premium (especially if you don't need speakers).

Ebuyer currently have the fans/Rumble pad in stock for £7.32. Even if you're only able to get hold of just the wallwasher and PSU from somewhere, that would do. It's possible that somebdy may advertise an amBX unit for spares. The actuall wallwasher rarely seems to fail, it's the LEDs that are the problem. I'm sure that there are many amBX units that have just been thrown away as a consequence of the LED failures.

Sadly, ebuyer is out for me. I'm an American and ebuyer doesn't have much love for shipping to the states. The only place I'm able to find anything out here is on Amazon or, to a more limited extent, on eBay, and both those places are only selling the Premium system and the basic system.

Play.com is selling them but i don't know if they ship it to the USA. I emailed them and i will let you know when i got a reply
