Sweet app - is there a way to increase the color saturation a bit? am using it mainly for games where the enb/fxaa d3d9.dll conflicts, but would like the lighting to be a bit more intense if poss - thanks!

I really hope development is continuing. This is by far the most promising app for ambx and it's the only way i can use ambx with 3rd party d3d9.dll's such as ENB and FXAA. If it wasn't for glOW i prob would have returned my lights weeks ago. Amazing work.

I love to see an a Win7 release with the mirror driver even if Aero isn't supported. You could make it available alongside the current version for those who want to try it. Please keep up the amazing work. For many of us glOW is the only way we can really get the best from ambx.

Hello everyone,

I've been following this thread in silence for a quite some time now and I thought I'd might contribute my thought about this project.
I myself am a very happy owner of a Philips amBX set with the fan and rumble expansion pack.

What I have seen and tested so far is very promising, Uhyve did a great job on developing this software.
I especially like the possibility to control the fans and rumble pack, which is a fantastic feature compared to Aurora Synthesia.
I was wondering if there are even more features possible.

Therefore I would like to give some suggestions:

I am a lover of music and love the way how my amBX set lights up the room with the music I listen to.
I also love to have 'interaction' with the music I listen to.
For example, my headset is a Roccat Kave. This headset has a subwoofer "rumble" feature that makes the earcups rumble slightly to the beat of the music or an explosion in a game or movie.
I would love it if this feature could be implemented in glOW, and I think other users would appreciate it too since they would be able to replicate the rumble effect in games (or pretty much any situation they like, provided that sound is played) that do not have a native amBX profile.

This could be done in the same way that AS uses it's light organ system. FMod analyzes the audio signal and translates that to usable signal for the amBX lights.
In this case it could trigger the rumble pack to function for audio frequency's between 0 and 200Hz, which are usually found in music as either bass or in games and movies as explosions, earthquakes, car exhaust noise etc.
If needed a slider could be integrated so that the user could adjust the level of rumble and the frequency threshold (let's say between 0 and 1000Hz, for example).

This exact same system could be utilized for the fans as well.
Only in this case the fans get triggers when a wind like noise is detected (which is in fact only a different frequency range).

Of course these are all just suggestions and implementing them is probably quite hard... But we can dream right! :D

Hi, thank you for this amazing thing :) but is it possible to make it generate light effects from the whole screen? (like a screen capture program), so you can use it for everything, included blu-ray playback with different players? So far my lights stops when i launch Total HomeTheater or MPC HomeCinema x64.

What i really want is something similar as the Amblone, it captures everything on screen, so the lights will work with whatever software/player you are using. If it is possible to make something like that, we will finally have a solution for blu-ray, without ripping and changing players etc :)

Quote from Amblone: Amblone can be used for a wide variety of applications, including gaming, movie watching, web browsing etc. Because Amblone takes the colour directly from the screen, it does not need any Directshow filters or special support by the video games, and works for almost anything that appears on the screen.

*EDIT* added a picture of the Amblone interface.

Just got my cyborg ambx product. I couldn't even get the software to work properly on my computer. Really disappointed. THANK GOD FOR GLOW!!!! haha. Really awesome thing you've got going on here. Works flawlessly except for gaming. Doesn't seem to pick up screen colours while game. Any advice? =P

P.S: I'm kind of a pc noob.

If your running windows 7 you'll need to "Disable desktop composition" in the shortcut proprieties of each game you want to use glow with

do this by right clicking the games shortcut or .exe and choose "proprieties" from the popup box then select the "Compatibility" Tab and the tick the "Disable desktop composition" box & then click "Apply"

now when you launch those alter shortcuts for your games windows 7 will kill aero and allow glow to read the colours from the game being rendered.

hope that helps :)

And props to the Dev of GLOW fantastic does what the official software doesn't but should!

Thanks for the advice Gizmo! :D :D :D Certainly helped! Its the amBx I wanted it to be now! =D
Though my right lighting turns off on certain games like Mordern Warfare 3. :(
Its a new pc so I've only got 2 games right now which are Guild Wars2 and MW3.
Works fine on Guildwars2 though. Any further advice?

Once again thank you Gizmo.
And to Uhyve, without you I would have wasted my $180(yeah thats what it costs in my country :roll: )

hey man, great software!! finally i can also use ambx for internet surfing and stuff :D.

one problem though. i was very hysterical to finally be able to use my ambx kit for playing my fav game stalker. since the original ambx driver wont work with that (for whatever reason that might be) i thought that his programm will definitely work. unfortunately it also doesnt work.
why is that? and why from those thousand of games only stalker wont work? can sb explain the theory for me :D?

thx in advance!

First off let me just say that this little app was the greatest thing about ambx until I switched to Windows 8. Now it doesn't work :(
I think it may be an issue of where I have ambx installed, (C Drive) and where I have all my games and glow installed (H Drive). I've noticed that the official drivers do not detect games that are not on the same drive as the ambx software, but unfortunately there is no more room on my C Drive, so I'm getting almost no use out of my ambx lights :'(

Could you link that youtube video or tell me how you got it working?

to get this working wqith stalker all u need to do is run in windowed mode then install autohotkey and run this script:

` & LButton::
Toggle_Window()
Return

Toggle_Window() {
MouseGetPos,,, W
WinGet, S, Style, % "ahk_id " W
If (S & +0xC00000)
{
WinSet, Style, -0xC00000, % "ahk_id " W
WinMove, % "ahk_id " W,, 0, 0, % A_ScreenWidth, % A_ScreenHeight
Return
}
WinSet, Style, +0xC00000, % "ahk_id " W
WinMove, % "ahk_id " W,,,,640, 480
}

then once stalker (or anything u want) is running, hit ` along with ur left mouse button and anything u click on goes to full screen... same again to revert it.
