was installed crysis last nights on window 7 x64,

Been updates the driver to the lastest on amBx

been try running the games on both 64 bit and 32 bit version, but for some reason the amBx cannot detect the games and will not added to the control panel, so can't get the lights to work on the game.

i possible try install more games to try it out, but was wonder does anyone come across the same problem?

could this be the profiles problem? if so any lights on solving this one and get the amBx work on window 7 on games?

This is a known issue for the current release. You'll have to wait a bit, work in progress.
Take a look at the Wiki for all those questions you didn't dare ask.

I installed the latest amBX software in Win 7 x64 using the installation guide from the Wiki and visual walkthrough, and it all installed fine. However, the system doesn't respond in Windows Media Centre or Windows Media Player and I get no entry in the software list, although VLC will activate my lights fine and shows as an entry. Is this a known bug with the latest drivers, as it used to work fine in my previous setup with the amBX software under Win7 x86 beta? If so, any time frame on drivers becoming available to fix this issue? Thanks.

For WMP, it only does the audio effects (you needed to install the Audio FXGen via updater), but WMC is not yet supported since x64 support has temporarily been disabled as it caused application errors.

Thanks for the reply. So will there be new drivers any time soon to restore functionality?

migeye wrote:Hi all,

Got myself also a starters kit, installed it on windows7 x64 according the instructions provided here and runs as expected.

But the strange thing i have is that when shutting down the pc it keeps hanging on "shutting down". I have to force the shutdown by pressing the powerbutton for about 3 seconds.
This occured after setting up the starters kit.
Also stopping the ambx services before shutting down does not help. I'm not sure it is related to ambx but it occured after installing it.

thanks,

I quote myself,

I de-installed everything related to AMBX and this resolved my issue,

Now I re-installed it with the latest version and the issue is back. I'll remove again everything and wait untill there are proper drivers for windows 7x64. this issue inlcuding the punkbuster issue is very dissapointing.

Can you post a ambx diag file of your system, as this issue seems to only effect you so far.

I had the same issues trying to let amBX work on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I first installed all the drivers while the system was connected to my computer.
After i read on this forum and the wiki pages i shouldnt install with ambx connected.

Although not yet officially supported, quite some users have had success installing the Philips amBX kit drivers on Windows 7 32 and 64-bit. Try this at your own risk.

Do not connect the hardware yet.
Install the amBX web installer as normal.
Get all the latest updates as described above.
Open the Device Manager and click on your computer to activate it, then from the "Action" menu choose "Add legacy hardware".
Click to choose the hardware from the list, then Have Disk, and navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\amBX\Hardware" and choose either of the two .inf entries.
Connect the amBX hardware. It will fail to install. To install the device driver, click "Update driver" at the unknown device and again Have Disk (still "C:\Program Files (x86)\amBX\Hardware").

So i uninstalled everything and reinstalled without the system connected to pc.

I updated like 3 times untill there were really no further updates.

In Device Manager i referred to the ini files but that didnt work.
Later i deleted the unknown devices (ambx) in device manager and let
windows 7 search for new devices.. but still no use.

Than i found 2 icons in device manager with a ! in triangle mark!
I deleted those and let windows seven search again for new devices.

He found amBX and it all works now!

- VLC
- WMP
- Games

everything no errors or disfunctions found!
:D :D

Right now im at work, but if moderators appreciate it i can post amBX diag when im back home?

I Followed the same procedure (not connecting the hardware) but it did not work for me.
I mean, everything works, no errors at all but only when shutting down or restarting the system it hangs in "shutting down" and i need to force a powerdown.

Nor sure where i can find a ambx diag file.

thanks,

Any update on new drivers as my amBX setup has been sat next to my media PC gathering dust for weeks now?

Hi Venger,

If you follow the setup guide on the Wiki you should be able to get your drivers working fine. We are currently looking for a way to make this more user friendly for you guys. We'll keep you updated with any news.

Thanks,

The drivers are installed and working fine. It's just that 64-bit applications like Windows Media Centre (which I bought the amBX for) no longer works since I moved to Win7 x64. When will this specifically be fixed?
