I too have noticed this. Seems some changes were made in Win7 that make Aurora act slugish. Either set the screen sampling to low, or disable the mode to get the tool working. Synesthesia is unaffected.

works for games, but if you can get ambx to detect the game and work with it it works better then aurora mode,
but for unsupported games and everything else Aurora works great :)

First all a big thanks for this awesome app!
Still got some little (but annoying) issues in Windows 7.
But anyhow, I will be watching this app closely for coming updates :D

I had plugged my AMBX kit in the motherboard sound-output and Aurora and Synesthesia worked fine. But when i plug the AMBX kit in my Creative soundcard, Synesthesia won't work anymore... Any suggestions what i am doing wrong?

Probably you do not have the output on your Creative soundcard enabled in your os?
Try setting it as your default sound device.

This is because Synesthesia accesses the first sound device it can get its hands on. So in your case its the onboard soundcard. My suggestion is that you disable this (in the BIOS maybe) so that you only have your Creative sound device working, rather than just setting it as the default. Because of the last of a menu I made the choice to go with the first device rather than devise some way of listing all the devices detected.

First of all, Aurora Synethesia is beginning to be so big that it should have it's own sub-forum. This thread is already quite really messy. Maybe some moderators could look into it? Maybe even a forum for problems and one for general development?

After a few weeks of using it, I noticed a few things, just in general, not about 1.06. I really like the color balance tool, but for example my wallwasher needs a different color balance then my speakerlights. Maybe add the option to adjust each region with a specific color balance?

Another idea was to get a "real" menu, not a dropdown list. Since 1.06 there has been so many options made aviable, and I find it annoying to select the option I want to turn on or off in such a way. A convential menu would be apreciated.

Also I would to be able to save my previous selected options, so when I shut it down it remember the settings I used next time it starts.

Been out of the running for some time, and lost track of AS a little bit. I'm back at it, though, and must say that some feature are really cool.
All the extra's are good, but I must say that AS is getting really cluttered at the moment, there's just too much to go through.

Although you're going though a whole lot of options, I can't say that one of those options should be sacrificed, but some options are just not working the way I think they should work:

Screen Sampling / Mode Response: I really can't seen to put my finger on it, but it seems that 'low' is the better option on both, while I thought 'high' is the logical choice (since the reaction speed is high and the CPU usage is highest)
Sound sensitivity: the Delta works good, be it that the sound output is the same volume. A few songs have a cool slow intro (Michael Jackson - Thriller, as a good example), but the light seem to 'fade out', as if it needs a constant volume to show a constant sound-to-light image. Then when the music starts it takes a second to pick up the new volume, sometimes even with an overshoot in response. I've tried a lot of setting but there just isn't any good setting.
Light Arrangement: not exactly as I imagined, but it works and I'm happy with it. Basically it keeps the screen-to-light on the front lights and explosions and such show up behind you. Haven't tested this thoroughly, but if i do, I'll make sure I'll upload some movies or something.

AS has really gone through a great development, and I see less and less irritations than in the beginning (stereo mix works better, less constant colours). I believe the only things needing to be done should be a User Interface, or at least a .ini-file in which we could save our favourite settings. And there's still the fact that Aero still doesn't work, but I'm okay with that.

Zodius,

I joined the forum specifically just to thank you for your ridiculously awesome little app and all the time and effort you and all the people on here have contributed to getting it to where it is.

I've just popped my Ambx cherry this weekend and got myself 6 sets at a ridiculous price here in the UK to pimp the *** out of my house and cannot believe how I have never come across this technology before.
Already got another bunch bought for Xmas presents for family and friends :)

Spent the weekend trawling the web and these forums and getting myself up to speed with it all and your app was the diamond for me.

Looking forward to contributing in some way to the forum.

Thanks again to you and all on here for the testing and suggestions that helped you along the way.

I concur - an amazing application! Thanks for your help on this. One slight issue I have had is with my computer sleeping and waking up. When I wake up my computer, synthesis becomes disabled. The only way I can get it to work again is to restart the Aurora app. Has anyone else had this problem or found a work around? Cheers!

Holy this cool. Works like a charm with VLC playing blu ray movies on my entertainment center.

Thanks!

I guess this is off topic, but how do you get VLC to play Blue Ray movies? Do you have to rip them and strip the copy protection? I looked in to getting VLC to play these recently and could not get it to work. Cheers!

^^ Yeppers you got it. You have to have a blu-ray drive and a hefty video card, processor then converter. Takes quite a while but worth it if you use your computer for all your media. The format that works is .mkv for vlc. I stick with 720p with the conversion and rip and usually can get excellent quality under 4gbs for a file. Keeping the quality full I have trouble skipping to scenes with my 9800gtx video card and not to mention my I have my computer hooked up to my TV which doesn't have 1080 resolution. Hope that helps, but it works. I have noticed I can't get the tools bar to go away in VLC with the auora synthesia unless I change the settings every time in tools. However, I still im in awe over how well this program is working.
