Hi there,

i just upgraded from Vista Business 64 to Windows 7 Pro 64. While ambx was working relatively fine on Vista (the only thing, that didnt work was mpc hc 64 bit version, which crashed after starting it) it fails completely on W7.

Installing works fine, hardware is detected, apps are being detected (except mpc hc 64), but no lighting comes and worse a few apps (Stalker CoP, 3dMark2006) dont start anymore while ambx software is running in the background.

Anyone experienced this, too?
Any solution in sight?

I would completely uninstall the amBX suite and install it again to see if it works again as expected.

Also the Win7 guide is here

I followed the wiki guide just yesterday after switching from Windows XP 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. It worked right from the start, at least for the few games that I tried. Somehow the new control panel even remembered the arrangement and settings of my 4 starter and 3 extension kids, which I thought was impressive especially given the trouble I've had with the old Philips control panel.

I do get the runtime errors at Windows startup as mentioned in a sticky that I never got with Windows XP before.

Deinstalling and following the new wiki guide was successful. Effects work now on several games like GTA IV and CIV4, but still not on MPC HC and xray-Engine (Stalker Games).

Stalker is so athmospheric and has a lot of lighting effects, its really a shame, that it doesnt work.

Stalker has never been compatible with amBX. It is one of my favorites and I agree it could be very nice if it worked.

Ok, i buyed amBX for a few years with a hope about more game and software supported titles. Today Year 2009 (soon 2010) we have a few more titles but with a complitly oncompitable OS driver?

x64 is getting more and more usual, even for "home-computers" it is pretty natural to have an x64 OS today. But wait... is'nt amBX custommers mostly gamers? Yup. Ok, then we talking about the second group that is using x64 OS systems right after 3D artist and so on.

I have'nt used my amBX system for nearly a year now :( I want to enjoy the great amBX experince again.

Please amBX team, give us some x64 drivers for Windows 7.

There are :?: All it doesnt do currently is provide lighting effects for 64-bit games (which are so few at the moment anyway). I, as well as many others, are still enjoying the amBX experience on a lot of games.

Simply follow this guide on how to install it on Windows 7

ive been experiencing some issues after I upgrade my windows vista to windows 7. Most of the times ambx works with no problems but lately i was trying to play resident evil 5 and the system craches with a blue screen.

After I disconnect ambx everything seems to work fine.
In other game it seems to be working with no problems at all.

Then install everything step by step by following this http://www.ambx.com/wiki/Installation#Windows_7 :)

I personally didn't buy the kit to use on my dedicated media centre for games, and with Win7 x64 installed the kit is as good as useless when watching anything through Windows Media Centre. So please don't forget those of us using it for purposes other than gaming as your generalisation doesn't hold. Months on and still no sign of this being resolved.

Yes, this is very true. I forgot to mention that, but it was probably because the post I was replying to was specifically talking about games.

I was going to buy this a long time ago, but i put it off because i needed the money. No here i am again, on the checkout button, when i see one of the reviews says it doesnt work with x64.
Ive read thru most of the thread, but still no definative answers.
I dont play games on my PC, but i do alot with it for music, and movies. Will this work with:
Windows Media Player/Center x64
iTunes 64
VLC 64?
Any answers would be appreciated. thanks.

Side question, how many kits would i need for a decent 42inch install?
