A user's guide to getting the most out of your amBX PC Gaming Peripherals

Setting up your amBX Software

Uninstall and remove old versions
If you are having problems with your amBX installation a complete uninstall is recommended.

1) Using “add remove programs” or the Vista equivalent (Programs and Features). Uninstall everything from Program Files with amBX in the title. i.e.
- Philips amBX Version XXXX
- amBX FXGen
- amBX mod for XXXXXXX
- amBX mutator for XXXXX
- amBX System

2) Reboot

3) Delete the contents of “Program files\amBX”

4) Your system should now be clean and ready to continue.

Installing the latest official amBX software

1) Download the amBX System and device drivers from http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sgc5101bd_05/sgc5101bd_05_pcs_eng.zip

2) Extract all files and open the folder "amBX v.1.4.4"

3) Run "autorun.exe"

4) Download and install the newest version of the amBX system and FXGen

amBX system v.1.1.2.10.zip
amBX FXGen v3.3.0.zip

5) Reboot

6) You should now be up-to-date with the latest official software versions.

Device Configuration
Start } All Programmes } Philips Accessories } Philips amBX } Launch Direct control

You should now be able to hover over each device and test it.
Please ensure that all devices are set to “enabled” and the height to “none”.

The recommended layouts are:

One Philips kit:
• Rumbler at Center
• Fans at North West and North East
• Wall washer at North
• Speaker lights at East and West

Two Philips kits:
• Rumbler at Center
• Fans at North West and North East
• Fans pair 2 at North
• Wall washer 1 at North West
• Wall washer 2 at North East
• Speaker lights pair 1 at East and West
• Speaker lights pair 2 at South East and South West

Getting FXGen titles working

1) Run the Application Manager
Start } All Programmes } amBX FXGenerators } Application Manager. You should now have a blue amBX logo in your system tray.

2) Run your FXGen compatible title e.g. BattleField 2
The compatible games list can be found here:
http://www.ambx.com/site/consumer/games/gamingFXGen

3) Exit your FXGen compatible title.

4) Open the Application Manager from the blue amBX icon in the system tray.

5) Go to the Games tab and find your new title.

6) Ensure your title is set to “Enabled.”

7) Close the Appliction Manager, so that it returns to the system tray.

8) Run your FXGen compatible title and enjoy.

Getting Full amBX-enabled titles working

1) Install your full amBX-enabled title e.g. Supreme Commander

2) Install the latest patch. Patches can be found here. http://www.ambx.com/site/consumer/games/PCgames

3) Open the Application Manager, from the blue icon in the system tray.

4) Ensure your Native title is set to “Disabled”.

5) Run your full amBX-enabled title and enjoy.


Getting your amBX Mod working

1) Install your game.

2) Update your game to the latest version.
