The amBX Doom 3 mod shows some of the amBX effects that can be used by a first person shooter to enhance the game experience. Below is just a snapshot of some of the amBX effects experienced whilst playing the amBX Doom 3 mod:
• Dynamic amBX lighting is generated from the locations of the ingame lights and projectiles, surrounding the player with appropriate lighting and enhancing the atmosphere.
• amBX lighting effects for pick-ups, power-ups and enemy-hits are used to reinforce in-game events, e.g. green flashes for health, yellow for ammo and red for blood splatter.
• amBX fans kick in when the player picks up speed in the game by flying off a jump pad or from situations in the game like an air vent.
• Running and jumping in the game will generate amBX rumble thuds.
• Specific amBX effects are also generated with different weapons e.g. the rocket launcher streams light past the player, with an explosive rumble and whoosh of air.
