• Philips amBX Installer v.1.10

  Please run "Check for updates" from the amBX Control Panel after you have installed to get the latest software from amBX

  amBX software is compatible with Windows 7 32 and 64-bit. This will be automatically updated through the amBX Control Panel. Windows 7 x64 users will only receive automated effects for 32-bit applications.

  Philips have not updated their device driver for Windows 7 but it can be installed as Legacy Hardware. Please see the wiki for instructions.

  amBX Diag is an utility provided by the amBX support team to help troubleshoot any issues you may encounter using amBX products. It captures a snapshot of relevant system information from your computer including details of your amBX setup, placing it within a zip file that is then sent as part of a bug report to our support team. • amBX Defender amBX mini-game

  Have fun with this classic arcade style space game created by the amBX team.

  Defender is fully loaded with amBX light, fan and rumble effects for your sensory pleasure.

  As you defend the planet your lights will flash when firing missiles against approaching enemies. Your amBX fans and rumble will activate at every explosion, giving you real immersion.

  And watch out for early warning signals from your amBX lights to indicate enemy danger.

• amOEBA amBX mini-game

  amOEBA is a cute and vibrant puzzle game in which players must match a particular amBX colour using combinations of coloured amOEBAE.

  The amOEBAE are tiny colourful creatures who glow when they are awake. On each level, the player gets a selection of tools of varying capabilities to wake up or put to sleep the amOEBAE, such as crashing cymbals and sleeping gas, all of which come alive with amBX effects.

  The tools vary in their range and effectiveness, so the player must use them carefully and with perfect timing in order to get just the right amount of each colour in the mix. As players progress through the levels, new tools are unlocked and these can be used in the level editor to make your own amOEBA challenges.

  Remember, the amOEBAE emit coloured light, so mixing them is not the same as mixing paint. Good luck!

  amBX will certainly heighten the sense of fear as you blast your way past zombies. Feel the chill with the amBX fans. The ability to switch play between your squad members means you'll experience some scintillating amBX effects as each character uses their special powers.

  Experience fully directional amBX lighting that adds to the gory and shocking ambience, capturing in-game reflections, shadows and explosions. See the flickering flame torches move by and behind you or a menacing dark red surround you as you enter a red lit tunnel. Feel the hit and see the direction of attack when the blood red splatters.

  • Dynamic amBX lighting is generated from the locations of the ingame lights and projectiles, surrounding the player with appropriate lighting and enhancing the atmosphere.
  • amBX lighting effects for pick-ups, power-ups and enemy-hits are used to reinforce in-game events, e.g. green flashes for health, yellow for ammo and red for blood splatter.
  • amBX fans kick in when the player picks up speed in the game by flying off a jump pad or from situations in the game like an air vent.
  • Running and jumping in the game will generate amBX rumble thuds.
  • Specific amBX effects are also generated with different weapons e.g. the rocket launcher streams light past the player, with an explosive rumble and whoosh of air.

  You need a copy of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, patched to version 1.5. Set Enemy Territory: Quake Wars to "disabled" in the amBX Control Panel.

  Get more from ETQW with amBX effects:
  • Surround ambient lighting reflecting in-game environments, lighting used to assist with lock-ons when targeting enemies.
  • Explosive weapon effects with custom amBX scripts generating various rumble textures, lighting and airflow e.g. the rocket launcher script flashes light past the player, with an explosive rumble and whoosh of rock blast air.
  • Ambient airflow is generated from the speed of the player and from in-game objects that cause impact as well as when the player walks, runs, falls or even near a flying vehicle.

  Below is just a snapshot of some of the amBX effects experienced whilst playing the amBX Far Cry mod:

  • amBX lighting enriches the exotic exteriors in this tropical paradise.
  • As you roam around claustrophobic indoor locations hunting for enemies, you experience amBX fan and rumble effects with different weapons.
  • Screen shake caused by explosions and earthquakes in the game, cause judders in the rumbler.

  Here's a just a few of the scintillating amBX effects experienced whilst playing the amBX Quake 4 mod in Single and/or Multiplayer mode:

  • Players running and jumping in the game will actually feel the air move around them and the effect of landing and impacts.
  • amBX lights react instantly to in-game events including 360 degree environmental lighting, power-up effects - a dim red pulsates in sync with the rumbler to match the healing heartbeat of the Regeneration effect and damage feedback is displayed through a multi directional red light blood splatter indicating the direction of where your enemy is shooting.
  • Different weapons generate custom effects, including surround lighting, rumble shudder and fan blasts from the rocket launcher

  Ship Simulator 2008 with amBX features variable speed fan effects to simulate wind speed and direction as players sail their vessels through the different environments. Lighting effects are represented from the in-game ambience and conditions. Rumble effects allow you to feel the engine of your ship as you accelerate on the wide and varied shores, giving players a true feel of captaining a ship in a host of different circumstances.
